Our solution

We delivered a straightforward, high-quality installation using premium materials and a collaborative approach to finishing, ensuring the floor worked with the heating system and suited the client’s aesthetic preferences.

Why 22mm solid herringbone over underfloor heating?

Thicker solid wood retains heat longer than thinner or engineered alternatives. By bonding the 22mm parquet directly to the pump screed, we created full contact between the floor and the heating system, maximising warmth underfoot and improving energy efficiency.

FAQs about this herringbone parquet project

Thicker solid wood retains heat longer, making it a good match for underfloor heating. It also allows for future sanding and refinishing over the floor’s lifetime.

Yes, when glued directly to the screed, solid parquet works well with underfloor heating. Full contact ensures efficient heat transfer and a stable installation.

We used Bona primer and Bona lacquer, a professional-grade system known for durability and long-lasting protection.

Absolutely. We meet with clients after installation to discuss colour options and lacquer types, ensuring the final finish suits your preferences and your home.

Light tumbling distresses the edges and surface of each block slightly, giving the floor a softer, more characterful appearance compared to sharp-edged traditional parquet.
