Solid plank flooring can be an option from the many designs of parquet flooring and when you combine the two designs of plank flooring and parquet flooring, they can work well together and as you have long and wide lengths of timber which really show off the stunning grains and tones that run through the length of raw material when it is laid. MM Parquet & Carpentry first started out fitting these types of solid plank flooring many years ago I believe when it comes to plank solid wood flooring, they are the best quality and will give you the most return on your investments when installing.
Solid plank flooring should only be fitted by gluing systems or by secret nailing and should not be fitted with a floating system, as they are not designed for this system because solid wood flooring tends to expand. Once you get the fitting system correct you will never have any problems with this flooring. We have many different finishes and dimensions available in our plank flooring range and many different textures are also available. We have a wide range of designs and colours to choose from and MM Parquet provides a full fit out service and will always give all options and advice on designs and colours for your different rooms.
Having a solid plank floor installed in an unfinished or pre-finished board can look amazing and you can avail of our square edged boards or our bevelled edged boards direct from our manufacturers. If you choose the square edge finish, this style gives a more uniformed finish, as each plank sits tightly together and will give off a smoother finish and will look more solid when fitted together. All square edged planks will come in an unfinished state as you should never have a square edged plank in a pre-finished state as the boards will never sit smoothly together, therefore unfinished boards are sanded and polished, so that when they are fitted together, they are levelled off with the sanding and then sealed to the colour tone and finish you desire and this in turn will keep your plank flooring much more stable.
If you decide to choose our bevelled finished plank, they can really make the whole floor area pop and give your whole room an elegant look. If you choose the bevelled edge plank flooring not only will you get a more defined look from the bevelled edge you can also avail of this style plank flooring being prepared in a prefinished board. We can order directly from our manufactures in any pre-finished tone or colour or finish from smooth bevelled, brushed bevelled, tumbled bevelled and distressed bevelled. We have over 25 colour tones and finished to choose from. The colours can range from the natural tones to a dark black tone. We even have white oiled tones to light and dark grey tones, any one of which can look stunning.
Once MM Parquet & Carpentry Ltd have sat down and picked out the correct plank flooring for you, the final and the most important part of the process is the finish and the best process to seal and protect your solid plank flooring. All the products we can choose from will protect the floors, so it’s really down to what look you are trying to achieve. We have finishes from the standard two pack lacquer from a 10% sheen up to a 75 % sheen or you can avail of the two-pack water-based floor lacquers either.
