Clip System Flooring Installation
This style of system is only used in Juncker flooring. The reason we are discussing this way of fitting your hardwood flooring is the cleverness of the system and we would have supplied and fitted many of these styles of plank flooring over the years. They are available in two different thickness 16mm and 22mm. Both can be used on the clip system but the 22mm is also used for secret nailing onto joists, you should only use the finger jointed plank flooring on firm surfaces as these are not designed to take pressure in between joist and high traffic areas and can crack and break over time, so the full plank flooring versions are best for this. That is why it is so important to have a registered fitter fit your plank flooring.
But back to the magic of this flooring. The rule of thumb with solid plank flooring is you should never float solid plank flooring at all. If you did this with any solid plank flooring it would be only a matter of weeks before you would have a serious issue with expansion. But the beauty of the Junkers system is they seal both sides of the flooring, which stops any moisture or RH (relative humidity) affecting the timber and the clip system holds each plank so tight the flooring just will not go anywhere when expansion happens. This system is amazing and is the only way to float solid plank flooring.
